“Hori hori” is Japanese and roughly translates to “dig dig”—but that’s not all this brilliantly simple multipurpose multitool can do. Pound in tent stakes with the flat metal base, saw branches for kindling with the serrated edge, and measure planting depth with the inch marks around the rust-resistant stainless steel blade. It'll also happily come along for any and all of your garden tasks. A beautiful walnut handle allows you to get a firm grip while you work. The curled hook inset near the base of the blade is perfect for cutting twine or opening a bottle top at the end of a long day of hard work. Blade Care: Apply a thin coat of protective oil after each use. Wipe clean of dirt, water, and fingerprints regularly. Use a medium to fine file to straighten out any larger dings or nicks in the blade. The edge can be honed with a medium sharpening disk or stone.
